چکیده

The gut microbiome is vital to the health and development of an organism, specifically in determining host response a chemical (drug) administration. To understand this, we investigated effects six antibiotic (AB) treatments (Streptomycin sulfate, Roxithromycin, Sparfloxacin, Vancomycin, Clindamycin Lincomycin hydrochloride) diet restriction (–20%) on microbiota 28-day oral toxicity studies Wistar rats. fecal was determined using 16S rDNA marker gene sequencing. AB-class specific alterations were observed bacterial composition, whereas caused no observable difference. These changes associated well with LC–MS/MS- GC–MS-based metabolome profiles, particularly feces lesser extent plasma. Particularly strong AB-specific metabolic for bile acids both plasma matrices. Although AB-group-specific observed, weaker associations between suggest profound barrier them. Numerous correlations families metabolites established, providing holistic overview microbial functionality. Strong acids, lipids fatty amino related metabolites. microbiome–metabolome promote understanding functionality its host.
